BNC Deploys ELEMENTS NAS For Austrian Service

KOR / AUT / GER: ELEMENTS, a developer of advanced solutions for unrestricted collaboration in shared media workflows, has announced that its long-time customer Broadcast Network Connections (BNC) has deployed an ELEMENTS NAS 60bay plus JBOD expansion in PyeongChang to establish a steady connection for transmissions between onsite editing and producers in Vienna, Austria.

BNC, a Berlin-based production company, has been contracted by Austria's public (service) broadcaster ORF for ingest and content management during the global sports event to ensure up-to-the-minute coverage.

"This project is a prime example for the versatility and flexibility ELEMENTS provides." said André Kamps (pictured), CEO of ELEMENTS.  "Being completely open for collaboration with other systems and applications, while enabling users to work even from the most distant locations, ELEMENTS opens up entirely new possibilities for remote workflows."

The raw video footage, provided by several ENG teams (XDCAM), will be streamed through EVS XT[3] servers to the ELEMENTS NAS server to be edited by a team of four editors onsite in South Korea, utilising Adobe Premiere. While the editing suites are connected via 1GbE, the EVS servers utilise a 10GbE connection to ELEMENTS NAS. During the entire event the ELEMENTS NAS will be connected to the media server at ORF, enabling the producers in Vienna to provide additional content for download from the home-base to be included in the live-edit.

The edited video content will be airing in local South Korea TV stations, and simultaneously be transmitted via Signiant/PCMS directly to the media server at ORF for airing in Austria.
